DIY Wooden Magazine Holder
I will start right off by proverb I'm not a big fan of magazines lying around the house regardless how pretty their covers are. But at the same time I'm the worst with keeping them in social club, so if you enter my house you lot will spot i in the hallway, a pile in a living room – correct next to the sofa and under the coffee table, a few on a nightstand, in the kitchen so on, I approximate you got the betoken already. This magazine disorganization too leads to frequent drama at home, because occasionally somebody flips over them (ooops!).
As you can tell, an immediate solution, would be highly appreciated hither. Do you have this kind of 'problems' at dwelling house likewise? If yep so yous might find this DIY very useful. At that place are many magazines holders and racks bachelor out there but I was in a mood to create something a footling scrap different. The chief idea was to make a lilliputian stand for magazines, where they would still be on display and accessible, and so I don't have to spend hours looking for them, but at the same time they would disappear from the floor and furnitures where they (clearly) don't belong.
I really like uncomplicated pieces and raw wood as a fabric, so I got some wooden planks and made this Ten shaped holder. The great thing about raw forest is that you tin can paint it any color, giving it a totally different look and feel whenever the mood strikes. I decided to keep mine every bit it is for at present but I might add some delicate color to information technology, in a few weeks time, only to change it's look a bit.
Hither is how you can make your own wooden 'X' shaped magazine holder:
You volition demand:
- ii as sized, rectangular shape wooden planks
- meter / ruler
- laser wood saw
- a pencil
Tip: This project involves wood cutting, all the same If you are not confident to apply a saw, you might inquire at your local hardware shop to cut the pieces of forest for yous in the desired shape.
Instructions:
1. Using a pencil, describe on both wooden planks the areas that have to be cut out. They take to exist correct in the middle of each plank, and their size has to match the thickness of the planks to fit in.
2. In one case the areas have been marked, utilize a wooden saw to cutting the pieces out.
3. So combine them just like a (3D) puzzle – that'southward it!
The great thing about information technology is that if you don't need it for a while, you can chop-chop detach it and store it in a cupboard or under the sofa. I guess we won't be doing it anytime before long, simply it's always good to have this option, right?
